Why beauty and the beast Jr?

Everyone knows the classic fairy-tale as old as time, and most of you know the Disney film version. But the junior stage show provides more extensive opportunities for the principal storytellers to take key roles: Mrs Potts, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Babette (the feather duster) Madame de la Grande Bouche (the wardrobe), and Chip all have lead vocal parts. There is also extensive opportunities for our ensemble to take named characters with solo vocals in numbers like Belle or The Mob Song, or become one of the many narrators. In total, there are over 30 roles that we can cast! In addition there are lots of fabulous additional featured roles including wolves, moving statues and dancing spirits!

“Nurturing, caring, confidence building and skill producing… best Drama group by far.” Google reviews

 About the Project:

We’re inviting everyone to sign up to be part of Beauty and The Beast Jr for the full experience - not just to be cast in a principal role. Our creative team are experts at making sure every cast member has a great time. Whether you’re in a lead role or part of the ensemble, we’re going to put EVERYONE in the spotlight! This show is all about teamwork, energy, and having fun together—so no matter your role, you’ll be an essential part of something amazing.

In return for committing to the project, we promise you an unrivalled experience being coached by our insanely talented and nurturing team; Jill Neenan, Musical Director, Alana Asher, Assistant Director and Choreographer plus, of course, Producer/Director Danielle Gaglione. In addition, we have a dedicated Nurture Support Lead in Kimberlie Joy, who has a lifetime of experience in childcare - but personally and professionally.

During the rehearsal process we schedule lots of activities for everyone so we guarantee that you won’t be sitting around feeling bored!

What is the LAUNCH WOrkshop & AUditions?

The Launch Workshop & Auditions Day is when the magic begins! On Sunday 28th June, we’ll bring all participants together for a fun-filled workshop of games, singing, dancing, and acting activities – the perfect way to break the ice and start building those all-important friendship bonds with the people you’ll be spending part of your summer with.

After a short break, we’re inviting anyone who wants to be considered for one of the 30+ roles a chance to audition infront of our expert panel and the rest of the cast. Anyone hoping for a principal or featured role will have the chance to sing a solo and read a short script in front of the group. Don’t worry – it’s all very supportive and fun.. and you can prepare your audition piece in advance so you’re as confident as possible for the panel…

Around three weeks before Launch Day, we’ll send out some music to everyone who has signed up, so they can get familiar with the music ahead of time and learn a solo if they want to be a principal part or sing solo in the ensemble.

FAQs

Q: My child/teen only wants to participate if they are cast in a lead role. What happens if they’re not?
A: We ask that all participants commit to the project as a whole, rather than only if cast in a specific role. While lead and featured roles are limited, we are dedicated to giving every participant a meaningful opportunity to shine— you won’t find the same people standing at the back in a Dramarama show! If your child chooses not to continue after the Launch Day & Workshop , they may withdraw in accordance with our refund policy.

Q: We’d love to join but can’t attend the Launch Workshop. What should we do?
A: Just let us know on the registration form, and we’ll reach out with details on how to submit a video recording instead, if they want to be considered for a part. We’ll also make sure they are buddied with other children their age when they come on 17th August so they don’t feel like they’ve missed the opportunity to meet friends.

Q: My child is interested but can’t make every rehearsal or performance. Can they still be involved?
A: Absolutely! We welcome all participants, though lead and featured roles are reserved for those who can attend all performances. We appreciate lots of our Year 6 /7’ s may have new school inductions in the second week but we can work around these if needs be. Be sure to note any availability issues on the registration form.

Q: How do I pay?

A: There are two installments to pay; the first secures your place in the show, and must be paid by 31st May. The second covers the remaining balance and is payable by Tuesday 30th June 2026. If you pay but your plans change and your child can no longer take part, please refer to our refund policy. If you have a discount code, these should be used on the FIRST payment installment.

Q: My child is nervous about the Launch Day and Workshop – what can they expect?
A: The launch day is designed to help children make friends and be comfortable with the people they will be spending two weeks of their summer holiday with. Our team creates a warm, supportive environment with fun games and activities to help everyone relax. There’s absolutely no pressure to do anything anyone is uncomfortable with—we’re here to make it an enjoyable experience for all. If they want to audition for a part after the workshop, they can do so infront of the rest of the cast and the audition panel.

Q: My child is very specific about the costumes or clothes they want to wear – how will this be dealt with by the creative team?

Please provide as much info about your child as possible when completing the registration form so we can ensure we provide the best experience for them. At Dramarama we will never pressure a child to do anything they don’t want to do but for the purposes of the West End Experience production, we do expect everyone to wear a costume appropriate for their character. For example, if they won’t wear a skirt, please let us know so we don’t buy them a female villager costume. Thanks!

Q: Do you offer wraparound care for early-drop off or late pick up?

A: We can offer an 8:30am drop off or a 4:30pm pick up at extra cost of £5 per session.

Q: Are you looking for adults or older teenagers to get involved with running the show?

A: Absolutely! If you’d like to volunteer as a helper or chaperone for the performances we’ll need as many hands on deck as possible so please let us know on the application form – especially if you have a DBS certification or chaperone licence! If you don’t have a DBS certificate we can advise on getting one organised. Shows like this are reliant upon parent/carer helpers so please come and get involved – it really is a wonderful thing to be a part of.
